English Language Day in Sworde Teppa 2009

On the same day April 9th in the afternoon we also took part in English language day in Sworde Teppa. And we decided to take part in that ceremony too. We succeed to participate twice, because last year we also took part in that and there were different quizzes. And there was competition of postcards and some of our postcards were best ones and we got prizes for that. Some of us were participants last year of English language day and last year hold different knowledge and entertainment games. And every year it has some time table of holding English language day. This year it consists of opening and welcoming. The second was how students can change the poem, this part hold Mr. Ray. It was so easy and funny to change the poem about fears of our life. It was interesting and knowledgeable to change poem and some ones could full fill their vocabulary. I and Madina were volunteers in this game. After that there was discussion with British HM Deputy Ambassador Kim Gould. we gave to her questions.I was very glad to see how our students give questions, even some children from kindergarten took part in that and gave questions too. There was the game when to one group give one difficult situation and they have to solve it. This gave develop thinking and fast solving skills. In this game our team from Sarband became winners. The other game was about how much student knows about sport events and as a test had to switch right answer. All participants got something in that day by taking part in English language day.
And after that day I had good memories forever because not every person could participate in such kind of ceremonies and to get something that will be need in future and meet such persons. I consider that such centers are need to our generation to learn and widen outlook. I want that we see more and more students in that centers.

Participating in the ceremony of opening Americag American Corner

On 9th of April in Qurghon-Teppa was opened American corner in Sworde Teppa building. This corner was funded by American Embassy to teach students to modern studies. And the coordinator of this corner is Regina Sokolova alumna of Flex program. And at the opening of this corner came American Ambassador in Tajikistan Anne Jacobson and Jacki McKennen from Khatlon region were representative of local education department of and from government. They opened the ceremony by cutting the re ribbons.
One of the aims of this corner is that community came and uses it for developing their knowledge. Especially improve English language.
That ceremony held some minutes then guests left. After then we students from GCE program stood alone with Regina new coordinator who is very familiar to us, her mother and friends, and discussed about the corner’s plans. And some of our students agree to be volunteers of this corner. And I am one of those volunteers.
We saw how this corner equipped, how many interesting English books and what kind of opportunities will have students there. After that to our discussion joined Mr. Ray director of American Council and our discussion got more interesting. He is coordinator of exchange programs and some other programs too in Tajikistan. We got much information about studying in US and what kind of exchange programs in Tajikistan
And now we will visit that corner often, in our free time, to improve our English, because there will show different movies and held activities, and of course help them.
