Teacher’s Day

The first Sunday of October we celebrate Teacher’s Day. This year we celebrate it on the 4th of October.
Teacher’s profession is very difficult but much respected one. It is a bit hard to handle with many different personalities. Teachers can inspire us and change the world.
Teacher’s profession teaches all other professions in the world. Teacher is a person who helps students, give knowledge and care and love. We come to school at the age of 6 or 7 and teacher takes our hand and bring us to the classroom where she/he learned us how to read and write and learn the outside world. As Alexander the Great said:” I am indebted to my father for living but to my teacher for living well’.
I remember my first teacher. He was very strict teacher. My Mother chose male teacher for me because male teachers are strict. I was very afraid of my teacher. I learn a lot from it. He was inspiration to us and instrument for learning. When I was child my teacher asked me who i would like to be in future. I would like to be doctor. Then later i change my mind and now I am teacher of English like my Mother. My grandparent’s were teachers and aunts are teachers. So teaching profession is in my blood. I like this profession very much. I like to share my knowledge with my students.
Many can teach.. Only a special few can reach. Teaching is a work of the heart. And now i want to take a opportunity and congratulate all teachers in the world with their professional holiday. And wish them happiness, strong health and many, many good students.
Now i am very happy that i am teacher. Students are my seeds and plant them and grow it and look after it he whole year and at the end of the school year i gather my harvest. To be an English Teacher is difficult but if you know your subject well and if you are creative and have desire to teach it is o.K. use many games, songs and role plays in my class. The job of a teacher is to get students laughing and when their mouths are open to give something on which to chew.
Nowadays we have lack of subjects’ teachers in our country and qualified teachers too. I hope, in future this problem will be solved.

Teachers I believe are the most responsible and important members of society because their professional efforts affected the fate of the earth.
Helen Caldicott.

As I like quotes very much and always begin writing article or other essay with famous quotes. So here below some quotes about teachers.
Good teachers are costly, but bad teachers cost more. ~Bob Talbert
What the teacher is, is more important than what he teaches. ~Karl Menninger
Teachers who inspire know that teaching is like cultivating a garden, and those who would have nothing to do with thorns must never attempt to gather flowers. ~Author Unknown

When you teach your son, you teach your son’s son. ~The Talmud
The best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book. ~Author Unknown
There are three good reasons to be a teacher – June, July, and August. ~Author Unknown
To teach is to learn twice. ~Joseph Joubert, Pensées, 1842
Teacher : The child’s third parent.” – Hyman Berston

I want to share with you recipe of perfect Teacher. This recipe of perfect teacher we made when we were at the Teacher Mentor seminar in summer in Dushanbe.

A perfect Teacher

A perfect teacher must have such qualities:
* hardworking
*honest, kind and love her/his profession
*patient
*qualified
*tolerant
*humorous
*modest
*must always be in the search of something new
*support and motivate students
* friendly
*creative
*willing to participate in different seminars and trainings and conference

Do you want to know the story of creation of the teacher? Then you can read this how God created teachers andtell it to Angels.

THE CREATION OF THE TEACHER
God was creating teachers. It was His sixth day of ‘overtime’ and He knew that this was a tremendous responsibility for teachers would touch the lives of so many impressionable young children. An angel appeared to Him and said, “You are taking a long time to figure this one out.”
“Yes,” said the Lord, ” but have you read this order?”
TEACHER:
…must stand above all students, yet be on their level
… must be able to do 180 things not connected with the subject being taught
… must run on coffee and leftovers,
… must communicate vital knowledge to all students daily and be right most of the time
… must have more time for others than for herself/himself
… must have a smile that can endure through pay cuts, problematic children, and worried parents
… must go on teaching when parents question every move and others are not supportive
… must have 6 pair of hands.
“Six pair of hands, ” said the angel, “that’s impossible”
“Well, ” said the Lord, ” it is not the hands that are the problem. It is the three pairs of eyes that are presenting the most difficulty!”
The angel looked incredulous, ” Three pairs of eyes…on a standard model?”
The Lord nodded His head, ” One pair can see a student for what he is and not what others have labeled him as. Another pair of eyes is in the back of the teacher’s head to see what should not be seen, but what must be known. The eyes in the front are only to look at the child as he/she ‘acts out’ in order to reflect, ” I understand and I still believe in you”, without so much as saying a word to the child.”
“Lord, ” said the angel, ” this is a very large project and I think you should work on it tomorrow”.
“I can’t,” said the Lord, ” for I have come very close to creating something much like Myself. I have one that comes to work when he/she is sick…..teaches a class of children that do not want to learn….has a special place in his/her heart for children who are not his/her own…..understands the struggles of those who have difficulty….never takes the students for granted…”
The angel looked closely at the model the Lord was creating.
“It is too soft-hearted, ” said the angel.
“Yes,” said the Lord, ” but also tough, You can not imagine what this teacher can endure or do, if necessary”.
“Can this teacher think?” asked the angel.
“Not only think,” said the Lord,. “but reason and compromise.”
The angel came closer to have a better look at the model and ran his finger over the teacher’s cheek.
“Well, Lord, ” said the angel, your job looks fine but there is a leak. I told you that you were putting too much into this model. You can not imagine the stress that will be placed upon the teacher.”
The Lord moved in closer and lifted the drop of moisture from the teacher’s cheek. It shone and glistened in the light.
“It is not a leak,” He said, “It is a tear.”
“A tear? What is that?” asked the angel, “What is a tear for?”
The Lord replied with great thought, ” It is for the joy and pride of seeing a child accomplish even the smallest task. It is for the loneliness of children who have a hard time to fit in and it is for compassion for the feelings of their parents. It comes from the pain of not being able to reach some children and the disappointment those children feel in themselves. It comes often when a teacher has been with a class for a year and must say good-bye to those students and get ready to welcome a new class.”
“My, ” said the angel, ” The tear thing is a great idea…You are a genius!!”
The Lord looked and said “I didn’t put it there.”

Ramadan is the 9th month of Muslim calendar.During this month all Muslims keep fast from sunrise till sunset. In the evening and in the morning before the suns down and suns up people eat small meals. People fast the entire month. During this month they take extra time for family, inner reflection and spiritual grows. In this month the saint book The Holy Quran was sent down from heaven.
Observing the fasting for a fixed number of days but any if you ill or on a journey the same number should be made up from other days. And as for those who can fast with difficulty (old men) they have choice to fast or to feed a poor person fo every day. Allah says about fasting person «He has left his food, drink and desires for my sake”. The fast is for me. So i ‘ll reward the fasting person for it and reward of good deeds is multiplied ten times
Ramadan is a Holy Month and good chance to make good deeds and charity things. People must make good deeds and help to poor and disable people in their comunities. Summer Camp

In this year Relief International organized summer camp. Of course we were selecting by our application. And from each ILC they chose only one student. From ILC Sarband they chose me and I represented my ILC. So every student represented their ILC. This camp was during 10 days from July 21-30. It was my first camp and it was unforgettable to me. There are 27 ILCs in Tajikistan and 27 students, 5 alumnies of GCEP program they were volunteers and 3 students Patrick, Maryland, silviano California and Austiana Washington and one teacher Martin Drozdoff from USA They came in three week Exchange program.

That camp situated on Varzob Valley on the top of the mountains. I don’t write about weather of that place, because the weather in Tajikistan is wonderful. This camp was great opportunity for those who wanted to improve their English, improve leadership skills, and work in team, to get more information about USA and even about Tajikistan and of course to make new friends. First day all of students were silent. But it was for the first time. When we used to each other we became like brothers and sisters and of course opened. We make our time table for all day. So we woke up about 7 o’clock washed our faces and brushed teeth. Every day we woke up early that our volunteers wake us up. At 7:05 we had to be in the yard. Three days we did our morning exercises on the hill that not far from the camp. It was better than we did it in the yard. We had excercise about 30 or 40 minutes and then we went to our rooms and prepared to breakfast. And the breakfast was at 8 o’clock. What about our kitchen it is one stored building and situated between the mountains on the low of mountains. There always is windy and cool. Every day we had tastiest dishes. All students thanked cooks. So we had breakfast about 30 minutes after that we went back to our rooms and prepared to the trainings. Our trainings started at 9:00 o’clock. All Tajik students divided into three teams and each team had their teacher, motto, and name. We had good teacher he was from USA and his name Martin Drozdoff from Arizona. By our trainings we discussed asked each others sometimes we had fun. Almost all our lessons took place on the nature every team chose their places. Every day we had trainings, discussions, debates and talking about anything. For example we found out about US education and the system of that, about communication, why and how communicate, how to write grant and etc. After that we had coffee break about 10 o’clock we had it in the camp. If we didn’t end our lesson we did it till lunch, but if we ended we played in different interesting games. They were different game one called how to build castle, other one it is how sighing, ordinary story or tale change when one student don’t understand it from other. Those games had their rules and improved our understanding each other, how remember that information and so on. About 12 o’clock we had lunch. After the lunch we had free time to fulfill our bogs till 14 o’clock. Some students didn’t fulfill that because some of them didn’t like write, some was tired, played, went to swim to the swimming pool, listened music or only relax and rested. But our teachers said to us to fulfill that. After that we had lessons. Day by day every team went to hiking. Another interesting thing was our hiking. It Is so interesting and scare to sleep in tents in open air.It was for the first time. And how we danced in Mountaing.
About 4 30 we had break time. Then we were free. By plan in that time we had swimming time. We went to swim. Till dinner we had free time and did everything what we wanted, of course not out of rules. Some played volleyball, baseball, gathered and talked etc. After dinner we had cultural shows like disco or any films we watched on the yard. The films were interesting and they were on English that helped us to improve English.
All that knew and happened in that camp was useful for all.

It was my best summer holidays.

Poetica Musica in Sworde-Teppa

Poetica Musica bandPoetica Music
in Sworde Teppa
On Saturday June 28th Olim , Madina and teacher Zebo went to Sworde Teppa English resource center. We were invited to concert of Poetica Musica sponsored by US Embassy in Dushanbe. This music band is for the first time in Tajikistan. That day was their third concert in Tajikistan. It must be mentioned that Poetica Musica was invited to Tajikistan by US Embassy. There were three of them in group. Two men and one woman two men.
Olim’s impression about that concert.
On 28th of June we had a trip to Kurgan Tube to Sworde Teppa. It is Education and Learning centre. This centre founded by British embassy. And the director of this centre is Mr. Paul. Mr. Paul invited us to participate in music show by Poetica Musica. It had to begin at 5pm but started later. It is famous music Group in USA. And they fund by US embassy. We were so happy to participate in this show. When we were near Sworde Teppa we couldn’t hear any voices. We were afraid that we had untrue information. But when we saw that there is chairs on the yard and some people went thru and out, we calmed down. Then we met some workers of this Centre. Before that we see the group we knew that there are three persons two women and one man. This information we searched from Internet. We came near chairs and sat down. We also met Mrs. Anna Benjaminson. The group prepared to show and we looked and talked between us. The show begun. In this show we saw two men and one woman. First of all the woman said that she is very happy to see all of us in their show. A little she told about their music, who is composer. One maiden translated to Russian for those who started to learn English. And they started. One man played on guitar and one on flute the woman sang. She has a good voice. The voice gets into the heart and makes you be wound in it. I think that the voices were heard far from Sworde Teppa. The guitar and flute also were so wonderful. The voices of these instruments were as in wonderful tale. Before I head the music sounds instruments on weddings, parties or on computer. But to hear it alive it is wonderful. As for me I enjoyed and rested by that music. The woman sang in some songs and some were only music. The time passed so fast that the show is ended. How in one proverb “All good is end”. In past time when we participated in proverb competition some our postcards got winner. Madina’s picture took 2nd and 5th places and my pictures took 5th place too. We wanted to take our prices. At last we took it. We were so happy participate and in music show and take our prices. Then we came back to Sarband.

Peace

                                                            Peace.

Peace is from of love that one grows towards. He is something, that cannot be ordered or commanded, but worked for, but not work, as we know.

To be at peace you must stop your own selfishness and greed, and to be ready, without any argument, to accept what life has to offer.

Those who have suffered most are those who realise-peace, real peace, when they find it.

We are often told “be peaceful”,” have peace” and such greetings like this, but we are never told how to achieve this.

We have all had quietly relaxed feeling that one is trying to let go, but we need peace forever and ever.
